God’s Glory

God's glory

This is one of my favorite quotes by C.S. Lewis, one of my favorite writers. I created this in a circle to mirror the circle of the sun. In case you don’t want to rotate your computer screen, it says:

“A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word “darkness” on the walls of his cell.”

Isaiah 43:7 says that we were created for God’s glory. Nothing we do or refuse to do can change that. Who God is isn’t dependent on us. And as far as the “cell” the lunatic finds him or herself in? I believe true freedom comes from fulfilling that very purpose. We all worship something; God meant for it to be him.

Being Human connection: We worship God not because he needs it, but because we do.
